The month of love and with only four short weeks in February, we’ve had a jam-packed time in the studio this month, with lots of news to share with you…
Creativepool shortlisting
Late last year we entered two of our own Hideout projects into the Creativepool annual awards. In February we were proud to find out that both our stationery and web projects were shortlisted in the graphic and web categories respectively and now we’re eagerly awaiting the final results. Whichever way it goes, it’s great to have our work recognised and be up against some of the heavyweights of the industry such as Jones Knowles Ritchie, The Partners and SomeOne.

Si and Sam, our in-house photography team, have both joined Unsplash and have uploaded their first photos to the site. Founded three years ago as a Tumblr blog, Unsplash has grown into one of the worlds leading photographic communities and allows photographers to upload hi-res shots for others to download and use for free in their work. Be sure to check them out.
We’ve ridden the wave
The good news kept on coming in February! We were pleased to have not one, but two logos placed in the top 5 of Wave #2 of the Logowave.
Logowave is a website based awards program that focuses purely on logo design. It allows designers and agencies to upload their work and winners are then chosen by a panel of logo experts.
We received 5th place for our logo created for the Eddie Hall range of sports nutritional products for Protein Dynamix. The logo is an illustrative version of Eddie in his signature pose and is used across products and marketing materials. And we received first place for our logo created for our video and content friends, Loud Monkey!
…and the rest
Working on numerous client video projects and being film fanatics we thought it was time to work on our first short film. In collaboration with our good friends at Loud Monkey we’re currently in pre-production and casting for roles. More news to follow very soon!
In other news, some of the team has started yoga together after work on Tuesdays, helping them to de-stress, relax and be a little bit bendier with their Downward-Facing Dog. We’ve carried out a photoshoot for 5 Stone Buildings up in the city as part of a larger project, and Si has been out and about with his camera at a number of gigs mixing with the rockers!
