May: The month of Bank Holidays and BBQs. It’s definitely been a month to remember for us, bagging ourselves an award at the Kent Creative Awards, supporting our friends at MHS Homes to raise money for the MS Society UK and seeing their new vans on the road!
Winners at the Kent Creative Awards
We did it! We’re all super proud to be the winners of the Graphic Design Category at this year’s Kent Creative Awards.
A number of the team made their way to Ashford for the awards dinner and ceremony. I don’t think any of us have been in a room with people from so many creative industries. It was a night full of good food, inspiring talks, and close up magic and what topped it off was getting the recognition for all the hard work the team have put in over the past year. Something that’s made even more special as it is judged by other creative minds in Kent.
What makes this award different is that it’s not just a specific part of the creative industry… It’s every part. From designers to sculptors, painters to dancers, the awards really are a great way to show off the depth and breadth of the creative output from our amazing county. That’s something we’re all really proud of!
A big congratulations to all of the other winners and finalists!

Supporting MHS Homes to raise money for MS Society
When our friends at MHS Homes invited us along to their Charity Golf Day to support the MS Society UK, we couldn’t wait to dust off our diamond pattern jumpers and clubs and get stuck right in.
Steve and George joined forces to tackle the other golfers and bring home the trophy. Unfortunately they couldn’t quite manage it, but Steve did win nearest the pin and George hit the Club House on the 18th tee. It was a par 3, 150-160 yards and he decided to use his driving iron… his tee shot went wildly right crashing into the roof of the Club House!
It was a great day and over £6,500 was raised for the charity, such a great cause!
Sam in the spotlight
You may remember Sam was a top 5 winner for Logo Wave #2 with the design he created for Eddie’s Hall (The Beast) range of products for Protein Dynamix.
Earlier this month he was put in the Logo Wave spotlight so we could all hear a little more about his creative background, his process and how he stays inspired. Check it out.
Have you seen MHS’s new vans?
We recently rebranded a suite of vans for MHS Homes and they’re now out and about on the roads which is great to see!
It was a fun project to work on, the previous vans had been in place for many years and were really well known locally so we had to come up with a concept that was really eye-catching, and took into account all views from the various stakeholders.
We’ve created a series of personal icons and illustrations, using the MHS CREATE colour palette with key phrases that promote their values.
Our full video case study will be hitting the site soon.
and the rest…..
Si’s been trialling his new set of Lee ND filters which basically act like sun glasses for your camera, allowing you to slow up the amount of light hitting the camera sensor enabling him to create his famous long exposure shots. Check out one of his test shots.
George, Si and Sarah had a great day at Kent Vision Live chatting to fellow local businesses about all things design, digital and content. We made some new friends and even won tickets to the TimeQuest escape room at the Hop Farm which we can’t wait to try!
