Meet the team: Keith

Barry Manilow, Paul Foot, Mr Bean, Keith Marshall… all great men. But what do they have in common? It’s not their love of html, it’s the fact they all look the same! Keith is a man of the 80’s and on a night out he can be regularly seen strutting his stuff with ill-timed dance moves, leaning against the nearest table, or shouting off key on the karaoke machine. All of which is ironic considering he’s such a perfectionist in his day-to-day work.

The Hideout

What’s your job?

Web Developer

So what do you actually do everyday?

Most of the time I’ll be writing the code that makes up a client’s website or email template. Other day-to-day tasks I do are Quality Assurance testing and designing website visuals.

Give us a song that describes you?

Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat – FATBOY SLIM.

What keeps you motivated?

Pixel perfection, bug-free websites, FIFA lunchtimes and the weekend (that’s Saturday and Sunday, not the singer).

Tell us your favourites: music, TV shows, films?

You can’t beat a bit of 80’s disco on the speakers! My favourite TV show of all time is Fawlty Towers – absolute comedy genius! Films, I’d have to say Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2. I don’t think they should of bothered making number 3 though (Sorry Uncle Dave!).

What are your most recent discoveries? Any tv-shows, podcasts, blogs or books we should be keeping our eyes on?

I recently discovered Cafe del Mar (my favourite Chillout place in Ibiza) on Soundcloud. Perfect Monday morning beats after a heavy weekend.

You’ve got a time machine, where would you go first?

It has to be the 80’s. I would have cut some serious shapes on all those flashing dancefloors!

Tell us something you wish clients knew?

Having more features on a website doesn’t equal a better design. A simple, well designed website can be intuitive and offer a memorable user experience.

Team of choice?

Charlton Athletic. I used to support Liverpool as a boy, so I guess that makes me a closet scouser as well?

What is one guilty pleasure you enjoy too much to give up?

Little Mix. I once told them to stop eating popcorn…….and they did! Their tracks are quite catchy too.

The Hideout

Your best impression?

Mr Bean. Apparently I look like him as well which helps.

What’s your earliest creative memory?

My memory’s not the best, but I do recall drawing the San Siro in MS Paint when I was at school, so I’ll say that.

Cats or dogs?

Up until recently I would have said cats, but having lived with my friends two Shar pei’s for a couple of years my opinion has changed. So I’ll say dogs.

What do you wish you had known 5 years ago?

That Leicester City would win the Premier League in 2016. Imagine the odds you would of got back then when they were a run of the mill Championship team. Made for life!

The Hideout

What are the 3 things you’d take to a desert island and why?

1. An endless supply of Corona to quench the thirst. 2. An Icebox to keep the Corona’s cold. 3. Margot Robbie.

If you had a tagline, what would it be?

Gambling and losing is almost as fun as gambling and winning!

If you could give the people reading one piece of advice, what would it be?

If your ever in a casino, my advice would be: Get in……..double up………Get OUT! The longer you play, the more likely it is you’ll lose.
