Meet the team: Frauke
By John / Staff /Not many studios have them, but we’re lucky enough to have our own in-house German. Originally from Korschenbroich, Frauke brings to the studio, curry ketchup, bratwurst and that famed German efficiency, as well as some pretty amazing bakes. Her tiramisu cake is like nothing you’ve ever tasted before and always goes down a treat …Paul Hollywood, if you’re reading, get her in the Bake Off. Oh… one more thing, if you’ve ever wondered what those crazy cat ladies start off like when they’re younger, then look no further.
What’s your job?
Designer.
So what do you actually do everyday?
In simple terms, I make pretty things. My job is to turn a client brief into a working design, be it a website, brochure or logo.
Give us a song that describes you?
German Whip – Meridian Dan ft Big H & JME
What keeps you motivated?
I work hard so my cats can have a better life.
Tell us your favourites: music, TV shows, films?
Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana, Hannah Montana – The Movie. I just have a massive crush on Miley Cyrus and honestly, if I had her body, I’d be swinging naked on a wrecking ball too.
What are your most recent discoveries? Any tv-shows, podcasts, blogs or books we should be keeping our eyes on?
Jeffery Deaver has recently become on of my favourite authors of all time. His crime novels are written with incredible detail and you’d never expect the plot twists he comes up with. His Lincoln Rhyme Series is one of the best books I’ve ever read and if you fancy a night in with a chilling story, these books are definitely for you.
You’ve got a time machine, where would you go first?
The Jurassic Period; Dinosaurs are pretty cool.

Tell us something you wish clients knew?
How to spell and pronounce my name – mind you, some people in the office still can’t get it right!
Examples include: Frok. Freak. Faruke. Fragile. Faluka. Faulkner.
Team of choice?
Team Hufflepuff #badgerpride
What is one guilty pleasure you enjoy too much to give up?
Cheese slices. You know those really fake, plastic cheese slices? Yeah, I’ll have those on everything.
Your best impression?
Funnily enough, I do a very bad impression of a German.
What’s your earliest creative memory?
I used to draw on our coffee table in the living room. My parents didn’t think it was very funny, but look at me now Mum and Dad – I’m a real designer!
Cats or dogs?
Considering I’m a crazy cat lady, this really shouldn’t even be a question.
What do you wish you had known 5 years ago?
Did you know that when you hold down the shift key and press the arrow buttons in Photoshop that the object moves exactly 10 pixels in that direction? If I had known that 5 years ago I could’ve avoided a lot of frustrating moments consisting of losing count half way through moving an element 100 pixels up.
What are the 3 things you’d take to a desert island and why?
Definitely cats, because cats are life. Nothing beats a good, classic book so I’ll take Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on the trip too. And finally my Nintendo DS with Pokemon Soul Silver, because between you and me that’s the best generation they’ve ever made.
If you had a tagline, what would it be?
Shut up, Sam.
If you could give the people reading one piece of advice, what would it be?
Get a cat. They’re little shits, but they’re absolutely adorable.
