Meet the team: Brad
By John / Staff /Brad brings two things to The Hideout… loud shirts and height (oh and his expert coding abilities!) Brad holds the record for the tallest person in the office, and despite hitting his head numerous times on our studios low ceilings, being tall has its advantages. He always gets a good view at the many gigs he goes to throughout the year, which can’t be said for everyone else behind him. One other little fact, he can solve a Rubik’s cube in about a minute. Pretty impressive stuff really.
What’s your job?
I am a Designer and Developer.
So what do you actually do everyday?
I write code mainly, taking designs and turning them into HTML templates and CMS driven websites. I also help ensure our jobs are quoted accurately, and get involved with internal projects that help us improve productivity.
Give us a song that describes you?
What keeps you motivated?
Fridays and Jack Daniels.
Tell us your favourites: music, TV shows, films?
TV Shows: Friends, House of Cards, Parks & Recreation. Films: Fight Club, Toy Story, Wolf of Wall Street.
What are your most recent discoveries? Any tv-shows, podcasts, blogs or books we should be keeping our eyes on?
I’ve recently bought a slow cooker, and it’s perfect, despite feeling like a middle aged mum cooking for her litter. I’ve also been using an app called IFTTT (long name, If this then that) that uses applets to automate tasks between other services. Like play Spotify at home when I arrive.
You’ve got a time machine, where would you go first?
I’d go back to New Year’s Eve 2015, get everyone in the world (except Donald Trump) and fast forward to New Years Eve 2016. Nobody should have to experience such a crappy year.

Tell us something you wish clients knew?
The technology and devices we use are designed for scrolling and swiping, so it’s okay not having everything above the fold, the content will still be seen.
Team of choice?
Been a Spurs fan through and through since I got my first kit for my 4th birthday. COYS!
What is one guilty pleasure you enjoy too much to give up?
Listening to Justin Bieber. I am also impartial to a slice of Belinda Carlisle every now and again, ooh baby.
Your best impression?
I’m a pretty good velociraptor impressionist.
What’s your earliest creative memory?
Getting my parents to dance to nothing whilst I recorded them on my new webcam when I was 10 so I could edit them onto a sick baseline on Windows Movie Maker.
Cats or dogs?
Two mini long haired dappled Dachshunds is my ultimate goal in life. Cats are cute, but I can’t deal with their overwhelming sass.
What do you wish you had known 5 years ago?
How to grow a beard, which I am still unable to meet. DAMN YOU GENETICS!
What are the 3 things you’d take to a desert island and why?
A Game Boy Colour with Pokemon Red and a crate of coffee… and Netflix.
If you had a tagline, what would it be?
I’m not sure, but I seem to say, “When are we going for a pint?” pretty often. I’ll go with that.
If you could give the people reading one piece of advice, what would it be?
See the world while you can.
