The June low-down

It’s June, it’s been a busy one and there’s been a heat wave in the office… and we’re not talking about the weather! This month the team have been on fire, picking up a couple more awards at the KDA’s, we’ve been on the radio talking all things brand and creative, and have helped 91 Productions with their first short film!

Winners at the Kent Creative Awards

At the start of the month we made our way to the Kent Digital Awards to find out if we were winners in any of the six categories we were nominated in.

We’re super proud to have taken home two awards at this year’s event. A silver for our website created for our friends Loud Monkey, and a Gold for the website designed and developed for Maidstone Museum! As you can imagine we’re all really proud to get recognition for the hard work we put in. You can find out more about our win in our blog post about the event.

The Kent Creative Show

Earlier in the year we were invited to be a guest on the Kent Creative radio show. A weekly slot about arts and culture in Kent that brings together a group of guests to discuss their work in the creative sector.  In the episode we discussed the studio, our backgrounds and some of the work we’ve produced. We also got to learn about the way of the Samurai Sword and Japanese drumming from Kensei Taiko.

You can have a listen here.

It’s a wrap!

91 Productions first short film has now wrapped! Flush is a film written and produced by our friend Emily at Loud Monkey. Set in the early 90’s rave scene, Flush is the story of two girls, desperate to escape the bullying and torment of their daily lives, who forge a life-changing friendship in a nightclub toilet.

A few of the team have been working as crew on the project with Si directing the film and Sam working on sound! The film has now gone to editing and will be premiering later on this year.

…and the rest.

We’ve had a few jobs go live in the past month, one of which was a new video annual report for MHS Homes. It’s a combination of video, photography, animation and infographics and is an alternative way of showcasing an Annual Report. Watch out for our case study and blog on that in the coming months.

We’ve also been in the studio this month shooting photos for an upcoming advertising campaign. Look out for more information on that soon.

That’s all for now. Make sure to check out our July Summer playlist and let us know your favourite tunes for the hot weather.
